What our clients say about us

At Gecko Africa Safaris we take what our clients have to say to heart. It is important for us to receive feedback from our clients, good or bad, on our service levels as well as the overall experience they had during their travels to Africa. For many of our clients, Africa is a true "Bucket list" item and many clients will only travel to Africa once in their lifetime - or so we thought - many of our clients have already returned! All of our consultants are personally involved in the booking process, from the time that we recieve the request, right through to the execution when the client return to his / home country.

Here is what some of our clients had to say:

Thank you for reaching out to me.  You beat me to the punch.

My profuse thanks to you and your team for planning an impeccable trip.

I just love Africa, but had not visited South Africa, and your country and people are just magical.  Your secret weapon is, of course, Steve Sara.  He has the unique combination of wit, brains and humanity to be a perfect group leader, a friend to each of us and an equally respected director.  Absent Steve, it might otherwise just have been a series of perfect days and perfect settings.

Your restaurant choices in Cape Town were impeccable.  My new favorite restaurant “anywhere” FYI is the Potluck Club.  But I don’t “like” a fixed menu.  It just restricts my choices and I just react. Everyone talks about the Silo, but you can’t access the roof unless you’re a guest (so they say).  A friend of mine told me that, if you are a restaurant or bar guest, they might let up you.  If this is so and if it could be arranged, you might want to consider a cocktail hour at the bar (perhaps prior to prior to Baia) and a roof viewing.  It would be nice.

I can’t say enough about the hospitality or comfort or pleasure of my time at each of the Cape Grace and Tinga.

Please let me know when you come to states --- I don’t want to lose touch…. You have a great organization!

We are back in grey, wet UK after an absolutely wonderful holiday in S.A.  Thank you for all your organising and for the gift of safari hats and books for the boys.  The hats were certainly needed as it was 35 degrees in the bush.  We enjoyed meeting you at Steenberg, as it is always nice to put a face to the person one is dealing with.

Londolozi was absolutely amazing, and we had our best game viewing holiday ever!  We saw the Big 5 within the first 24 hours, and lots of them. We will be in touch to organise another SA holiday, and in the meantime have given your name to friends of Angus who want to book a similar holiday in the Easter holidays next year.

Jake and I wanted to send you a detailed e-mail expressing how much we truly appreciated all of the assistance, support, guidance and preparation you provided us to make this trip outstanding. We were pleasantly surprised with the landscapes and weather. It felt and looked like San Diego California to both of us. We had to keep reminding ourselves that we are in S. Africa! The manner in which you set -up the ORDER of the golf courses was perfect!  The three courses were simply fantastic! As for the Fancourt, we loved it!  Everyone was so kind, helpful and welcoming. The times and dates you set-up our massages was perfect too.  As for the food……again, fantastic!

The Cape Grace was fantastic……service as if it was the Ritz Carlton. Welcoming and immense attention to detail. We had such a nice balance of experiencing the city, the Peninsula and the mountain. The private tour was amazing.  The tour guide was impressively knowledgeable and the driver was SO kind.  We always felt safe and well taken care of throughout the entire experience. We loved the Winelands. It was a cross between Napa Valley in California and Tuscany in Italy. We loved the Mont Rochelle. They were private, secluded and so luxurious. The food, people and experience was fantastic! Their and your attention to detail was so impressive and appreciated.

Sabi Sand: THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you for setting us straight and changing the original agenda we had with the previous company to this location for safari instead. Lion Sands River Lodge was spectacular, the experience was amazing and the food again was fantastic!  We saw the big 5 within only 2 safari drives…..less than 24 hours! We absolutely loved the experience. Thank you again from the bottom of hearts.  You took on this itinerary as if you knew us and had a vested interest in our trip and experience. We are extremely thankful for all you did to make this trip so memorable in our lives. We have already shared your information with a friend who is interested in going to S. Africa in the next year.

The Cape Grace was perfectly located and had excellent service.  The Chobe Game Lodge was very efficiently run – and they had a lovely romantic dinner set up for us on our last night there. Lukimbi Safari Lodge felt intimate enough that you could get to know some of the other guests over drinks or on the game drives. The Jack Hanna Cottage in Rwanda was a real treat – a whole house to ourselves!  I wish we had more time to enjoy the Peech Hotel and the Serena Kigali.  The tour guides and rangers all were excellent!  We had very different types of “animal encounters” at Kruger (up close and personal and “off road”), Chobe (we were restricted to the regular park roads and the river, but there was plenty to see) and the Zambezi River cruise (and, of course, Rwanda gorillas), which was a real plus.  If all of the safaris had been run exactly the same, I think it could have gotten “routine” which luckily it was not. We enjoyed having a diversity of experiences. All our travel arrangements ran smoothly and effortlessly. You could not have done anything more to further enrich or enhance your African experience. The gorillas were wonderful!  I’m glad you recommended 2 days of trekking instead of 1.  We had 2 completely different experiences (with 2 different groups of gorillas as well), which really enhanced our understanding of the environment/activities, etc. of these incredible animals.  It was an incredible experience. Thanks so much!

I want to compliment you and your team on providing a vacation experience for Tracey and I that was exactly as I had envisioned. (except for the pool but it allowed us to get some fresh air as we walked around the building following our nightcap at the bar). The transportation was flawless, Sabi Sabi was top notch:  The experience, accommodations,  guides, safari, and service were excellent, and the food,  incredible. The rooms at the Cape Grace were perfect and Andrew is the best tour guide I have ever met. I truly appreciate your providing wine and flowers as well as accommodating my son on the vineyard tour. What a wonderful trip!  I have already given your name to 3 of my friends and I know they will contact you should they ever travel to Cape Town I hope to return in the future and I will surely contact you as well. Thanks again
